OU Students to Approach H C, If Needed, on Beef Festival

The Democratic Cultural Front (25 Student Unions Forum) has announced today that they will organize the ‘Beef Festival’ on December 10 at any cost in a democratic manner by getting permission through the High Court, if needed. Speaking to the media at University premises on Tuesday, DCF representatives announced that they will approach the High Court for the permission in case the University authorities denied it.

On the other hand, the University authorities today once again made it clear that there was no permission to any festival in the University premises. It is, therefore, informed to all the concerned including the teachers, students and staff of the University that activities such as “Beef Festival”, “Pork Festival”, “Go-puja” etc., which are unrelated to academics and research will not be permitted on the campus.

The PG Practical exams have already commenced on December 7, 2015 and the PG Theory exams are scheduled to commence from December 14, 2015. Conduct of any non-academic activity would disturb the academic environment and the almanac. Hence, cooperation of research scholars, students, teaching and non-teaching staff is solicited in maintaining the academic environment and peace in the entire university, in the larger interest of the student community, the University authorities said..
