The Department of Library and Information Science of Osmania University is organizing one-day workshop on “Developing Soft Skills” at Arts College, Room No. 57, from 10.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M. on 15th September.
Soft skills are considered as “secret to success in life and work” apart from the subject knowledge at all stages of our career to compete in the present day global environment. Soft skills are needed to deal with the external world and to work in a collaborative manner with one’s colleagues. Soft skills are identified to be the most critical skills in the current global job market especially in a fast moved era of technology.
Soft skills such as communication skills, Personality development, leadership skills, Information literacy skills and Time management skills are essential to have an advantage at the time of interviews and also discharging day to day duties at the workplace. Almost all employers today insist on Soft Skills besides Technical / Professional Skills. Therefore, the objective of the Workshop is to ignite the idea of Developing Soft Skills among the students.
