Oppn comments for survival: Harish

Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today lashed out at the Opposition parties for making deliberate attempts to corner the government through malicious comments.

Addressing a public meeting, as part of election campaigning at Deshaipet under Warangal parliamentary constituency, Harish Rao appealed to the people to vote in favour of TRS candidate Pasunuri Dayakar, who will address their problems. “With no other go and for survival, the Opposition parties were indulging in misinformation campaigning”, he charged. Harish Rao also expressed displeasure at the Opposition parties for their persistent criticism for survival.

The minister also ridiculed the Congress and Telugu Desam and BJP combine for hiring candidates as they could not find a suitable leader to contest in the Warangal bypoll. While the Congress roped in former MP Sarve Satyanarayana with no other go, the TDP-BJP combine imported an NRI for the election. “These parties, which deprived the people of all facilities and failed to address their problems, have no moral right to seek votes”, he said.

Harish Rao also sought to know why the Congress leaders N Utham Kumar Reddy and Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka kept mum when then Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy denied a single rupee for Telangana in the Assembly. “These leaders have no right to seek votes from the people”, he said, adding they could not see welfare and other development programs.

Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, MP Gundu Sudha Rani, MLA Konda Surekha and MLC Venkateshwarlu were present. (NSS)
