Following the publication of report in Siasat Daily regarding non-payment of first instalment of Overseas Scholarship Scheme to selected minority students, Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel directed the officials to release the first instalment by Monday. Secretary Minority Welfare admitted that the first instalment of Rs. 5 lakh has not been released to any of the 210 selected candidates. He informed that Minority Welfare Department is busy in preparing link through CGG so that the scholarship amount can be deposited directly in the accounts of the students.
He claimed that students would not face any difficulty in fulfilling the condition of submitting the affidavit because it is allowed to submit the affidavit on plain paper and stamp paper is not necessary for that. Students who have not submitted the affidavit can send the same to Minority Welfare Department website.
