Omer Jaleel is appointed Chief Vigilance Officer of Dept. of Minorities Welfare

Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana appointed Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS as the Chief Vigilance Officer in the Dept. of Minorities Welfare in order to curb irregularities in the implementation of welfare schemes meant for Minorities.

It may be noted that Govt. of Telangana had established Vigilance Commission in the month of March 2015. Vigilance Commissioner requested the Govt. to appoint Chief Vigilance Officer in the Dept. of Minorities Welfare not below the rank of Dy. Secretary. After consulting Vigilance Commissioner, Govt. of Telangana appointed Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel as Chief Vigilance Officer. He would take charge of this post with immediate effect. He would review all the cases of disciplinary actions of the Dept. He would continue to function till the appointment of a Dy. Secretary on regular basis.

It may be mentioned that after receiving complaints in the implementation of Welfare schemes of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Govt. decided to appoint Chief Vigilance Officer. Mr. Omer Jaleel would monitor all the welfare scheme and the allotted budget. With this appointment, the responsibilities of Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel have increased.
