No BJP MP challenged Kirti Azad’s allegations against Jaitley: Congress

New Delhi: Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday pointed out that no Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP or minister present in the Rajya Sabha contested the charges levelled by BJP MP Kirti Azad against Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, which showed that they agreed to Azad.

“When the Congress accuses the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), all the ministers and the MPs oppose it. When Kirti Azad was talking about the DDCA yesterday in the Lok Sabha, no BJP MP or minister said it was wrong. If the allegations against Arun Jaitley are wrong, then why not any minister or MP oppose it then? It means they agreed to Kirti Azad,” Azad said.

“Has the government asked the CBI to do an inquiry into it? When the RTI was on its way, did Arun Jaitley ask to keep sports out of it?” Was sports kept out of the RTI to hide all the scams? Even today, sports has been kept out of the RTI,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Assembly has passed a resolution to set up a Commission of Inquiry over alleged irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) issue.

The Delhi Government had called the special session of the Assembly to discuss alleged irregularities in the DDCA and the last week’s CBI raid at the Delhi Secretariat. (ANI)
