New act to punish corrupt politicians: CM

Favoring a new Act to act tough against corrupt politicians in the State, leader of the House and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today slammed Opposition Leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy and his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao, for making derogatory remarks and fixing him in the cash-for-vote scam respectively.

When Naidu termed Jagan Reddy a novice, the latter alleged the former of finding everything in green as that of a jaundiced patient. “While Jagan is a budding politician, KCR was trying to insult us by throwing us out despite a right to stay for 10 years in Hyderabad, he said. Jagan Reddy was making undeserving comments against the government on special status tag and other issues, he fumed.

Leader of the House thundered at KCR dispensation for cash scam case on him being a chief minister, who can stay in joint capital for 10 years with equal powers and rights in Hyderabad. “Since bifurcation was done ruthlessly, we got every right to enjoy every facility here and the TRS Government cannot question our stay here”, Naidu reiterated. He made these comments on the second day of Monsoon session.

Beginning a debate on special tag issue, Naidu declared that soon they will bring in a new act to clamp down on the corrupt politicians like Jagan Reddy and others. The members are ought to protect decency and maintain decorum in the House which is going haywire, Naidu bemoaned. In a gist, he warned that the TD Government will not let off the corrupt politicians in future. He also termed the Opposition leader as a novice making comments without any knowledge on the proceedings being marred by their frequent disruptions in the House.

In the meanwhile, minister R Kishore Babu and much to the delight of Naidu, sought Jagan to give back Rs 1 lakh crore he swindled during YSR regime and help the TD Government develop the new State. (NSS)
