NDA ‘storm’ not ‘wave’ can be expected in Bihar polls, says Paswan

Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday said that he expected an NDA “storm” rather than a “wave” in the Bihar polls.

“It’s not only a wave of the NDA, rather it is a storm. We will clean sweep all seats on which polls were conducted yesterday,” Paswan told media.

“I thank women and all voters who voted for us, and I would also appeal to the people to vote for us so that all records are broken,” he added.

He described both Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav as icons of corruption.

Polling for the first phase of the five-phase Bihar assembly elections was held yesterday in 49 constituencies spread over 10 districts.

The districts where polls were held included Samastipur, Begusarai, Khagariya, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Nawada and Jamui.

Over 1.35 crore voters exercised their right to vote. The future of 583 candidates, including 54 women, will be determined through this phase of the polling process.
