Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy has ruled out holding by-elections in Sanathnagar Assembly constituency.

While the Home Minister was briefing the media persons about the decisions taken during TRS Legislature Party meeting at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday, the media persons asked whether Sanathnagar by-elections was also discussed in the meeting. Replying to the question, Nayani said that there was no need for a by-election as it is already represented by a MLA (Talasani Srinivas Yadav).

It may be mentioned that Talasani has resigned as TDP MLA from Sanathangar constituency on December 16, 2014, to get inducted as minister in the cabinet of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. However, the Speaker is yet to take a decision on his resignation. While announcing the party position in Assembly, the Speaker on Wednesday mentioned that TDP has 15 members in the House. This clearly meant that Talasani is still being counted as TDP MLA. (INN)
