Naidu pats PM Modi for ‘historic’ initiatives, says people accepting OROP decision

Faridabad: Union Minister for Urban Development M. Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday acknowledged the initiatives taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he has taken historic decisions during 15-month tenure.

“The Prime Minister has taken historic initiatives like the Indo-Bangla border issue and the OROP issue, which were very long pending demands of the people of this country,” said Naidu.

“PM took a historic decision on OROP and people are accepting it,” he added.

Asserting the importance of the metro in the state, Naidu said that Faridabad is an important city and it is important to connect it with the metro.

“It is a record in India that all the newly made nine stations are eco friendly and maintained with highest standards,” he added.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Badarpur-Faridabad Metro Line of Delhi Metro here today.

It is expected that around two lakh people will travel between the two cities on daily basis.

There are nine stations in this 13.875 km long section, which is an extension of Delhi Metro’s Violet Line, currently running from ITO to Badarpur. These are Sarai, NHPC Chowk, Mewala Maharajpur, Sector 28, Badkal Mor, Old Faridabad, Neelam Chowk Ajronda, Bata Chowk and Escorts Mujesar. All these stations are elevated and located on either side of the Delhi-Mathura Road.
