Mustafizur Rahman helps Bangladesh restrict Proteas to 248

Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman took four crucial wickets to help his side restrict South Africa to a tally of 248 on the opening day of the first of the two-match Test series in Dhaka.

At stumps, the hosts managed seven runs for no loss, with openers Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes at the crease.

Earlier, Rahman took three wickets in four balls to rip the wind out of the South African innings before Temba Bavuma scored his maiden Test half-century to help the number one Test side reach a respectable total.

However, it was still not enough to save the Proteas some serious blushes, as the Bangladeshi bowlers displayed excellent all-round bowling display to restrict their progress.

Jubair Hossain also picked three wickets and helped Rahman to destroy the South African innings.

The hosts will now seek a formidable lead to put some serious pressure on the South African batsman. (ANI)
