Muslims will weigh PM against gold if Babri mosque rebuilt: Farooq Ghosi

Days after his controversial demand for a Rajya Sabha seat for the wife of Yakub Memon, who was hanged in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, suspended Samajwadi Party leader Farooq Ghosi today said Muslims in the country would weigh the Prime Minister against gold if he rebuilds Babri mosque in Ayodhya.

“PM has demanded land for temple in Abu Dhabi and he got the same. We demand that he should initiate the process of construction of Babri mosque in Ayodhya keeping in mind the sentiments of 20 crore Muslims and they would weigh him against gold,” Ghosi told reporters here.

Ghosi was suspended from the post of vice-president of Samajwadi Party’s Maharashtra unit after he wrote a letter to party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav demanding a Rajya Sabha seat for the wife of Memon, who was executed in July 30.

Earlier this month, Ghosi, who hails from this district, said Yakub’s wife had nothing to do with the Mumbai blasts and labelling terrorists’ family as “terrorist” was not fair.
