Muslims should take initiative to change their status – Amer Ali Khan

Hyderabad: Muslims should take initiative to change their present status and to write a new History by breaking the traditions. 12% reservation for Muslims may bring prosperity for the Muslims of Telangana. These thoughts were expressed by Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily while addressing a large gathering at Zaheerabad yesterday convened to impress upon the Govt. the need to provide 12% reservations for Muslims.

 

In his address, Mr. Amer Ali Khan told the Muslims to hold the rope of Allah (SWT) tightly and lead their lives in the light of the Quran and Hadith. He further told that without following the orders of Allah (SWT) and the teachings of the Quran, we cannot achieve any kind of success. Highlighting the importance and the need for getting 12% reservation for Muslims, he said that  these reservations are essential for the bright future of the Muslim youth. The entire Muslim community should struggle for this. If this is done, 18000 Muslim youths could get Govt. jobs and 25000 Muslim youths will get seats in professional institutions.

 

Mr. Amer Ali Khan further told that the Muslims youths should be given industries after taking away auto rickshaws from them. He advised the Govt. of Telangana that it should constitute BCs Commission immediately and contact Central Govt. for amending the IX Schedule of Constitution of India. Although, it could delay the process, Muslims are not hopeful that they would get this facility. He pointed out that the result of the campaign launched by Siasat Urdu Daily for 12% reservations for Muslim is that Govt. is now thinking of implementing welfare schemes for Minorities by giving subsidies to the extent of 20-50%. Referring to the advice given by Mr. T. Harish Rao, Mr. Amer Ali Khan told that Govt. should fulfill its promise of protecting wakf properties. He also mentioned that Mr. Mohammed Saleem, present TRS MLC who was holding the post of Chairman of Wakf Board in 2002 had proposed for the establishment of medical college under the auspices of State Wakf Board. This proposal is still pending with the Govt. It is essential for the Govt. to accept this proposal and establish medical college.

 

He felt happy that the Muslims are united on the issue of 12% reservations whereas Muslim leadership and Muslim officials have failed to champion the cause of reservations. He informed that by providing reservations, 5 lakh Muslim families would be benefited. Muslim women could develop their families by following Islamic teachings. There are many welfare scheme for the benefit of women. They can participate in these scheme by observing Pardah.

 

Mr. Amer Ali Khan made a reference to the pious life of Hazrath Bibi Khadija (RA) and advised the Muslim women to follow her life.

 

Mr. Amer Ali Khan also told that the campaign launched by Siasat Urdu Daily for providing 12% reservation for Muslims is a beginning. After the formation of BCs Commission, a comprehensive development plan would be presented to the Govt. which Siasat Urdu Daily has prepared. It would give an identity to the Muslim industrialists and educationists. He felt happy that the Muslims are struggling to make this campaign successful rising above their political and sectarian affiliations.

 

Mr. Mohammed Ather, President of  Muslim Development Association applauded the services of Siasat Urdu Daily and offered his help for supporting 12% reservation movement. Mr. Jahangir, Floor Leader of Congress in Zaheerabad Municipality applauded the efforts of Mr. Amer Ali Khan and appealed to the Muslims to get united on this issue. Mr. Saifullah Qadri, Imam of Jamia Masjid told that Siasat Urdu Daily has accepted the responsibility of the welfare of Muslim community. It is therefore the responsibility of the Muslims to support its cause. Mufti Ateequr Rahman Qasimi, President of Safa Baitul Maal praised the campaign for reservations. He also get some useful suggestions for making this campaign successful. Mr. Mansoor Ali, President of Muslim Rights Protection Committee told that the Muslims of Zaheerabad has exhibited the unity by associating themselves with the campaign launched by Siasat Urdu Daily. Mr. Abdul Waheed, President of TRS, Kohir told that Govt. of Telangana would fulfill its election promise. Mr. Syed Ziauddin, Qazi and Khateeb of Eidgah of Zaheerabad expressed his delight that the Muslims of Zaheerabad have exhibited their unity by joining this movement. Mr. Abdul Qadir Faisal Chisti, Staff Reporter of Siasat Urdu Daily and Secretary of Telangana Union of Working Journalists told that in Medak District, Muslims belonging to three gram panchayats and Municipalities have passed resolutions in favour of 12% reservation and sent then to the Govt. He told that by getting reservation for the Muslims, Mr. Amer Ali Khan will not get any personal benefit. The Muslims of Telangana State are looking at him as a ray of hope. Mr. Mohammed Mahboob Ali conducted the meeting. Mr. Tayab Ali, Correspondent of Siasat Urdu Daily, Kohir and Mr. Waseem Ghori proposed vote of thanks.
