Some worthwhile comments have come after Taslima Nasreen tweet on Christmas celebrations.
The controversial Bangladeshi writer tweeted about what is wrong in celebrating Christmas, she wrote, “I can’t celebrate lies. Jesus’s mom was not virgin and he was no God’s son.”
Her remarks did not go down well. Here are some reactions from Siasat facebook readers:
Muddassir Ansari commented, “what Allah said in surat al maryam is 100000000% true n v believe in every single word of Allah that bibi maryam was a virgin mother n Jesus( PBUH) was a miraculous son of mary.”
“Dear Taslima!
We can’t refuse miracles. Isa’s (jesus) birth was also a miracle. And you know well that today there is no need of a female to get intercourse to expectant. Isa (Jesus) peace be upon Him) was not a son of God is true. Thank you.”- said Musheer Ahmed.
Muslims believe Maryam as she is called in Arabic, Mary or Maria in Spanish, was a chaste, virgin woman, who miraculously gave birth to Jesus or Isa (PBUH).
She (Mariyam) is the only one chosen above all women to have a chapter named after them.
Asmat Ullah Asmat said, “Jesus (PBUH) was the Son of virgin Mariyam/Mary. He was a human like us.”
The angels said: “O Mary! Behold, God has elected thee and made thee pure, and raised thee above all the women of the world.

Sajid Anjum: “We know prophet Eisa (PBUH), son of one of the pious lady Maryam, peace be on her soul.”
“Mary was a virgin when she delivered JESUS (May peace and blessings be Upon him)

As a Muslim, belief in all of the Prophets and Messengers of Almighty is a fundamental article of faith in Islam.
The holy Qur’an, indeed has a very long chapter in the name of “Surah (Maryam (Mary), Mother of Isa (Jesus),” devoted to the praise of his mother and the virgin birth she gave.
