The man who had set himself ablaze demanding Special Status for Andhra Pradesh died at a Chennai hospital on Sunday.
The victim, Munikoti, 41, succumbed to 95% burn injuries which he sustained after setting himself ablaze in a meeting organised by Congress party in Tirupati on Saturday. He was first taken to Ruia Hospital in Tirupati. Later, he was shifted to CMC in Vellore and then to KMC Hospital in Chennai.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and leaders of other political parties have expressed their deep condolence over Munikoti’s death. (INN)
