Even as the centre and state governments are running Swachh Bharat Campaign, municipal workers with the help of police is busy throwing garbage on prime places. This is a deliberate attempt to drive away poor fruit vendors and deprive them of their business. Several fruits vendors including Hindus and Muslims have been selling fruits on push carts adjacent to Rythu Bazaar Mehdipatnam for nearly 20 years. The vendors are very poor and sell fruits to earn livelihood. But it has been learnt that municipal workers are throwing garbage to drive them away. For this garbage trucks are deloaded on the place. All this is done with the help of police
Leaders of Tanzeem Insaaf and CPI reached at Mehdipatnam and shouted slogans in favour of fruit vendors. Communist leaders and a large number of local fruit vendors led by President Tanzeem Insaaf Greater Hyderabad Syed Kaleemuddin and CPI leader Muneer Patel staged protest against Municipal workers and police excesses.
