He was arrested in the Indonesian resort island of Bali on a tip-off from Australian Federal Police, ending a 28-year-old global manhunt.

The 55-year-old gangster said that he wants to go to India and not Zimbabwe.

Earlier during the interrogation he said he was looking to escape to Zimbabwe and asked the interrogators to free him. “He said that he lived in Australia and before that in Zimbabwe and wanted to go there. He was looking to escape,” but now he changed his statement by saying that, “I want to come back to India and I have not
surrendered.”

He also refused to say why he had come to Indonesia. The officers asked. Is he afraid of Dawood, Rajan replied he is not afraid of anyone.

Rajan was undergoing dialysis. The top cop Nainggolan said, “Rajan had been found medically fit. We have conducted medical check-ups and the reports were all clear.” He was taken to Polda Police Head Quarters.
