Mufti meets J&K Governor; discuss state-related issues

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today met Governor N N Vohra here and discussed various issues pertaining to the state.

The Governor and the Chief Minister discussed matters related to eradication of corruption and the challenges before the recently reconstituted State Accountability Commission, an official spokesman said.

“The two also discussed several important issues, including – steps required towards the advancement of urban and rural democratic decentralization, and intensification of afforestation campaign, particularly along the Pahalgam axis,” the spokesman said.

“Other issues like upgradation of selected towns/cities to secure smart city standards and initiation of pilot projects for rationalizing financial management of higher education institutions were also discussed,” he said.

The Governor also acquainted the Chief Minister about matters related to the projected commissioning of the Rs 300 crore Super Specialty Hospital, which has been set up at Kakryal by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, he said.
