More than mere lip service needed for protection of Waqf properties: Aziz Pasha

Alleging failure on part of Telangana government on all fronts with regard to preservation of Waqf properties, former Rajya Sabha MP and senior communist leader Mr. Syed Aziz Pasha told that ruling party had promised 12 percent reservation to Muslims and assured preservation of Waqf property soon after coming to power, but its promise was not fulfilled even after a long wait of 15 months. Delivering presidential address at a round table conference here, organised by All India Minority Muslim Reservation, Mr. Syed Aziz Pasha blamed state government for working on the lines of Andhrite rulers. He reiterated that although statements were issued by government authorities regarding restoration and preservation of Waqf properties but practical measures were lacking. He told that if the government was serious in preservation and restoration of Waqf properties than it should convert the Waqf Board into Commissionerate at the first place.
