Monsoon Session: Opposition only interested in ‘mud-slinging’, says Naidu

New Delhi:Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday said that the opposition is not ready for a discussion over External Affair Minister Sushma Swaraj’s resignation and is only interested in ‘mud-slinging’.

Naidu further accused the opposition of trying to defame the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government.

“She is ready, she wants to answer their questions but we cannot do anything if they are not ready. We have not done anything wrong. Our Prime Minister will never allow such a thing. They are trying to defame the government. All they want to do is mud-slinging,” Naidu told the media here.

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the fourth time today, as the Congress continued to insist on the resignation of the Swaraj for her alleged involvement in helping Lalit Modi.

The Lalit Modi episode has rocked the proceedings in the Rajya Sabha in the pre-lunch period on the opening day of the Monsoon Session today.

The House witnessed three adjournments as the Congress continued to insist on Sushma’s resignation. (ANI)
