Mohammed Ali Shabbir alleges threat to life, if he did not stop criticising KCR

Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir today said he had received a call from an anonymous caller who had threatened to kill him if he did not stop criticising the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Shabbir had also filed a police complaint against the anonymous caller.

According to a statement issued today by Shabbir, he received the call at 5.42 PM last evening from a landline.

The caller used abusive language while threatening to kill him, the Congress leader said.

“Being the Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council, I have been criticising the TRS government and the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his policies…I’ve been receiving these types of threatening calls quite often. Today’s call was quite serious in nature and therefore I am lodging this complaint,” Shabbir Ali said in his statement to Jubilee Hills Police last night.

“I am afraid that some unidentified elements might cause physical harm to me if they remain untraced and no action is taken against them,” he further said in the complaint.
