Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Wednesday expressed confidence that the ‘Mission Kakatiya’ would yield great results in revival of tanks and lakes across the Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons in Khammam, Harish Rao claimed that the ‘Mission Kakatiya’ was highly successful in Khammam district. Similarly, he said hundreds of ponds were revived in Warangal district. He stressed the need for taking water supply to drought-hit areas in all the districts.
Harish Rao informed that a committee, comprising retired and working engineers, has been formed in all the districts to study and implement the measure to improve irrigation facilities. He said comprehensive irrigation plan would be devised for all the districts in the next one month. (INN)
