Transport Minister Mahender Reddy today said the second phase of Mission Kakatiya works will begin from December this year. He launched an RTC bus service to Malkaram village during his visit to Shamshabad mandal on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, the minister said Rs 250 crore was sanctioned for laying new roads in the villages. Panchayat Raj and Roads and Buildings department released funds for the purpose, he said, adding that the State government was committed to rural development. “Though first phase of Mission Kakaiya began a bit late, this time we are planning to begin the second phase in December itself,” he said.
The flagship program will help increase ground water level to supply waters to irrigate at villages and towns. The second phase of the scheme will give a fillip to the rural water base and help farming community to grow more crops and get better yield, he opined. (NSS)
