The flagship program of Telangana government Mission Bhagiratha was aimed to provide safe drinking waters to the people, Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali said.
Along with Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy and others, Mahmood Ali inaugurated a 10ml capacity reservoir in Allabanda under Goshamahal segment in the city here.
Speaking on the occasion, Ali said the reservoir will help sort out the issue locally. The works of the project are on mission mode and will be completed in three years. The TRS Government will keep its promise of giving safe and purified drinking waters to every household in two to three years, he reiterated. He also said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was giving top priority to the welfare of the poor. Asara is one such scheme being implemented for the cause of the poor in the State.
The Home Minister said the TRS government was trying to provide jobs to the youth. New reservoirs will prove handy for addressing drinking water problems, he said. (NSS)
