Hyderabad: Chairman of Minorities Commission Mr. Abid Rasool Khan issued a notice to a Telugu news channel for associating the news of release of Abdul Qadeer on parole to ISIS. Sakshi TV news channel had telecast this news item.
He told that a attempt is being made to tarnish the image of Muslim which is not bearable. The Commission has issued notice. If the TV channel does not offer apology or if its response is not appropriate, Minorities Commission will file a criminal case against its Managing Director.
While telecasting this news, TV channel had reported that a prisoner involved in ISIS is being released on parole for a month. This is a concocted story. Through this news item, message has been communicated to the society that criminals involved in ISIS can also get parole. Mr. Khan further told that by telecasting such news items, the judiciary may also get affected. The attitude of media in respect of Minorities is condemnable which disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the society. There is a need for wider discussions in this regard.
