Minor girl among three killed in Bengal blast

Three people, including a minor girl, were killed and two other children sustained injuries when crude bombs stored in their house in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district exploded on Sunday, police said.

The explosion occurred in Upendrapur village under Canning sub-division, some 75 km from Kolkata.

“Three people, including a 12-year-old girl, were killed in the explosion. We are investigating the matter,” Superintendent of Police S.K. Chowdhury said.

Salima Laskar (12), Abu Taher (20) and Mohidul Laskar (35) died, while two children Talima Laskar (15) and Nazma Laskar (7) were hospitalised with injuries. Their condition is said to be stable.
