Michael Clarke to call time on international career after Ashes

London, Aug 08 : Australia captain Michael Clarke has confirmed that he will retire from international cricket towards the end of the ongoing Ashes series.

Australia failed to defend the Ashes after losing the fourth Test by an innings and 78-run defeat against England at Trent Bridge.

Confirming the news, Clarke said that although he didn’t want to leave his team at this point of time, he would give one last crack in the last Test, the BBC reported.

The 34-year-old came under a lot of pressure during the series as he averaged only 16 in his last eight innings.

The fifth and final Test match will be played at the Oval from 20 August. (ANI)
