Miandad claims Indian cricket survives on `money, commercialism` alone

Karachi, Sept.7 : Former Pakistan skipper Javed Miandad has lashed out at the Indian cricket, saying it has only been surviving on money and commercialism.

Miandad further affirmed that his nation’s side are superior as far as playing cricket against India is concerned, adding that Pakistan have more raw talent compared to them, the Express Tribune reported.

Former coach, however, said that they would not mind if both the countries could resume bilateral ties, but added that it should not be done at the cost of their self respect and pride.

Earlier, the 58-year-old had urged Pakistan Cricket Board(PCB) to stop asking BCCI for resuming the bilateral series following ICC secretary Anurag Thakur’s remark that one cannot expect a cricket series amidst rising terrorist activities.

According to the MoU signed between PCB and BCCI, both countries are scheduled to play six series in the 2015-2023 Future Tours Programme, but all were subject to clearance from New Delhi.

India have not played a full bilateral Test series with Pakistan after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. (ANI)
