Metro Rail works on Ganesh procession route to be prioritised

Telangana Chief Secretary Dr. Rajiv Sharma conducted Special Task Force (STF) meeting on Hyderabad Metro Rail project here on Tuesday.

Before getting into the regular agenda of STF review meeting and taking inputs of Hyderabad Police Commissioner M. Mahendar Reddy regarding the arrangements for facilitating the Ganesh Nimajjan procession. He desired that all the works related to road repairs and improvements along the Nimajjan routes be taken up and completed on priority. He asked for removal of the construction material of L&TMRHL at Mozzamjahi market junction three days prior to the Nimajjan and also completion of pipeline work by HMWS&SB on Necklace road before Nimajjan.

HMR Managing Director NVS Reddy made a detailed presentation on Action Taken Report (ATR) on the decisions of previous STF meeting and informed the Chief Secretary that 18 properties were dismantled or removed since the last STF meeting and only 86 (73 private & 23 GVM) properties are remaining now to be acquired in Metro corridors.

While reviewing the progress of utility shifting and Metro Rail viaduct & station construction, the Chief Secretary instructed L&TMRHL to furnish a detailed progress chart showing the manpower deployed, target date for completion of different sub works across Metro corridors to conduct a micro level review by him.

Rajiv Sharma advised TSSPDCL CMD to expedite the issue of Line Clearance (LC) for completion of utility shifting works. He has also directed C&SO, GHMC to clear the revised estimates for shifting of street light poles in different stretches of Metro Rail corridors.
