Wellington: Barcelona star Lionel Messi has been named UEFA’s Best Player in Europe for 2014-15.
The Argentine star claimed the trophy after defeating teammate Luis Suarez and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo in the voting process by journalist, stuff.co.au has reported.
UEFA president Michel Platini gave away the women’s award to Germany’s Celia Sasic.
Sasic beat Amandine Henry of France and Dzsenifer Marozsan of Hungary to won the Award.
