Mehbooba Mufti calls for easing of Indo-Pak border

New Delhi: People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Friday dodged posers on National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah’s assertion that PoK belongs to Pakistan and called for easing the border between the two Asian neighbours.

She recalled it was stated during the term of former prime ministers Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Dr Manmohan Singh that we can’t change the boundaries.

“So, I would say that let’s not talk about which side belongs to whom, it has already been said by the Parliament of India. We can ease the border and allow free flow of people and goods between the two sides so that the line which separates the people is decimated forever,” Mehbooba Mufti told ANI.

The National Conference chief had earlier stated that PoK will remain in Pakistan and added that India should be content with Jammu and Kashmir.

“India has been saying for so long that PoK belongs to them but has anything been done about it? PoK belongs to Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir belongs to India, this is how things will remain,” he said. (ANI)
