Meeting between PM Modi, Mamata Banerjee underway at 7,RCR

New Delhi, Aug. 12 : The meeting between West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently underway at the latter’s official residence, 7, Race Course Road (RCR) here.

The West Bengal Chief Minister is expected to seek financial assistance for the post flood reconstruction work in the state during the meeting.

According to reports, Banerjee is likely to take up the issue of waiver of agricultural loons of the affected farmers with Prime Minister Modi during the meeting.

Banerjee is expected to meet Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar today, later in the evening. Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and Janata Dal (United) chief Sharad Yadav are also expected to be present in the meeting, which would be held at Pawar’s residence.

The TMC supremo had yesterday met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Reports suggest that she also asked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief to join the meeting of leaders from the opposition camp today. (ANI)
