Man arrested for sending nasty messages to British MP

London: A 23-year-old man in Britain has been charged with “sending malicious messages” to an MP.

Craig Wallace, also named Muhammad Mujahid Islam, will appear in court charged with the offence of malicious communications, The Telegraph reported.

A number of MPs have complained they received death threats after voting in favour of extending British operations against the Islamic State (IS) in Syria.

Wallace, who lives in Willesden Green in north London, attended an anti-war rally outside parliament on the day of the Syria vote.

The day after the vote, Wallace sent Hilary Benn — the shadow foreign secretary — an email, calling him a “war criminal” and a “terrorist”, which was posted on his Facebook page.

“I hope to God that you will have nightmares when you hear that kids woman and men have been murdered by your government,” the mail read.
