New Delhi: A 25-year-old man was arrested yesterday for allegedly attempting to rape a five-year-old girl in Delhi’s Srinivaspuri area.
The culprit, Bablu, was caught red-handed by the victim’s family members near the railway tracks in Srinivaspuri. The girl had gone to watch Ramlila when the accused took her to a secluded location near the railway tracks on pretext of buying her sweets.
“At around 8 pm my kids had gone to watch Ramlila. This man (the accused) first played with my children and asked them if they wanted ice-cream. My daughter went with him, my son came to me and said that my daughter had gone with a stranger,” the victim’s mother told ANI.
“When we couldn’t find her, we informed the police and police found her in some 10-15 mins near the railway track,” she added.
The victim’s mother further said that the accused was thrashed by the locals before being taken away by the police. (ANI)
