Maliwal holds meeting with members of anti-modern slavery org

New Delhi: The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal today met Co-founder of an anti-modern slavery organisation Grace Forrest, and discussed issues like domestic violence, rehabilitation of acid attack victims and improvement of condition at GB road.

According to the DCW sources, Forrest was “impressed” with the Commission’s work in areas like Nari-niketan and GB road to prevent human trafficking.

“Forrest discussed issues of domestic violence which is also related to slavery with the DCW chief,” a source said.

Forrest was also learnt to have discussed ways of collaboration between her organisation ‘Walk Free Foundation’ and DCW in the meeting with Maliwal at her office here.

“They also want to support DCW’s efforts to improve the conditions of the residents at GB Road, prevent domestic violence and also in the rehabilitation of acid attack victims,” the source said.

Forrest was accompanied by Hayley Martin Panetta of Minderoo Foundation and Kamini Rana, Lead Indian Campaigner for the Anti-Modern Slavery Organization, Walk Free.
