Make country land dispute-free: AP CM to revenue officers

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today exhorted the country’s revenue officers to transform the country as land dispute-free by the using the latest technology and by digitizing the land records.

Inaugurating a three-day workshop on ‘National Land Records Modernisation’ here, Naidu said that the country’s revenue system is complicated, which causes disputes.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has done away with the old system (of maintaining land records), which was set up by the British rulers, and has been implementing a new system, he said.

He said that to rectify land records and settle the disputes, the state government has implemented ‘Mee Intiki Mee Bhoomi’ (Your land, your home) in two phases in this year alone. By doing so, it has solved many disputes by providing total information on the land ownership to the owners and receiving complaints from them.

He said he has instructed the revenue officials in the state to clear all grievances filed by the land owners by December-end.

The workshop has been organized jointly by the Andhra Pradesh Human Resources Development Institute and Center for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS).

Around 150 revenue officers from across the country would participate in the workshop.
