Main accused in Delhi’s property dealer murder case arrested

New Delhi: The main accused in a property dealer’s murder in Rani Bagh area of north west Delhi in 2014, has been arrested, police said today.

Two juvenile accused have already been arrested in connection with the murder of the property dealer Pratap, police said.

The main accused, Randhir, who was absconding after murder of Pratap, was arrested near GTK bypass bus stand, last evening, said Amrutha Guguloth, Additional DCP (North West) district police.

A reward of Rs 20,000 was announced by Commissioner of Police on his arrest.

An FIR was registered in connection with missing Pratap at Rani Bagh police station, on the complaint of his mother on June 30, 2014.

During investigation police found that Randhir owed some money to Pratap and his mother also suspected some foul play in his disappearance and role of the accused in it, the officer said.

On July 6, police apprehended two juveniles on a tip off, who admitted killing Pratap at his office in connivance with Randhir, she said.

They also admitted throwing Pratap’s body in gutter in Mangolpuri area. The body was recovered from the gutter.

Randhir had been hiding at Rudrapur and Haridwar in Uttrakhand to avoid arrest.

“At the instance of Randhir the transaction register with victim Partap has been recovered from his house. Five days police custody remand has been obtained for recovery of weapon of offence and CCTV footage of the crime scene,” added the officer.
