Madhya Pradesh CM assures SIT probe into journalist’s death

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday assured that he will hand over the investigation of journalist Akshay Singh’s death to the SIT.

“My mind is full of agony and pain. Yesterday, a sad incident took place, where the journalist, Akshay ji, suddenly fell ill and was rushed to hospital but unfortunately passed away. We give our condolences to his family and assure them that the state government is with them in this time of grief,” Chouhan said, at a press conference here.

Akshay Singh, a journalist with the TV Today Group, died suddenly yesterday when he had gone to take an interview of the family of a slain Vyapam scam accused in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh.

Reports say that Singh felt chest pain while he was taking the interview. He was taken to the Meghnagar hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
