LS adjourned till 11:40 am over Virendra Singh’s remarks

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 11:40 a.m. on Thursday after a verbal duel continued between the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmakers over Member of Parliament Virendra Singh’s controversial remarks.

Speaking during the discussion on drought, the BJP member who represents Bhadoi lashed out at the Congress for obstructing the Lok Sabha proceedings and said the party only wants the ‘fair skinned’ to occupy the Prime Minister’s Office.

“I want to tell Rahul and Scindia that these rulers are born not just from queens but also from women who do menial jobs,” said Singh. (ANI)
