Washington : A modelling agency that will cater exclusively to transgender models will soon open in Los Angeles, marking a historic moment in the Fashion world.
Cecilio Asuncion director of Bangkok-based Apple Model Management LA division, said that their strong commitment to developing successful models was never about quantifying or qualifying their gender, but was about their passion and commitment to being the best possible models they could be, E! Online reported.
The news comes following the recent growth in transgender equality movement, with actress Laverne Cox and Olympian gold medallist Caitlyn Jenner at the forefront in the media.
Model Andreja Pejic also made waves by becoming first trans model to be the face of Make Up For Ever’s “Be Bold” ad series.
Six transgender women are already on the agency’s lineup, and scouts are searching for more trans men and women to represent. (ANI)
