LONDON: The iconic monuments in the British capital this evening bathed in tri-colour as a “unique tribute” to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s maiden visit to the country.
“A unique tribute to a unique relationship. Iconic London monuments bathed in the colours of India,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Vikas Swarup tweeted.
The London Bridge and the giant ferris wheel on the south bank of the River Thames were illuminated with saffron, white and green colours as PM Modi and British PM David Cameron visited the river bank.
PM Modi arrived here today on his much-anticipated maiden three-day visit that started with talks with British PM Cameron.
