Lok Satta activists hold protest demanding jobs for youth

Nearly 200 activists of Lok Satta party were arrested by the Hyderabad Police for holding a demonstration outside the State Secretariat here on Saturday.

Led by Lok Satta president Pandu Ranga Reddy, the activists demanded that the State Government issue job notifications and initiate the process of recruitment into various departments. The activists raised slogans against the State Government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. They were taken into custody when they tried to barge into the Secretariat.

Speaking to media persons, Pandu Ranga Rao criticised the Chief Minister for not filling up vacant post despite completing one year in office. He said that the TRS came to power by promising to provide jobs to unemployed youth. He said while the State Government has been spending crores of rupees for Godavari Pushkaralu, it has no money to spend on jobless youth. (INN)
