Legislature panel on Wakf to inspect Old City properties on Aug 6

The Telangana Legislature Committee on Wakf Properties has decided to inspect the Wakf properties located at Madina Building during its next meeting to be held on August 6.

The decision was taken during the Committee’s meeting held in Assembly premises on Thursday. Committee chairman Bajireddy Goverdhan and members including MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, Congress MLA DK Aruna, MLCs Farooq Hussain (Congress) and Altaf Hyder Razvi (MIM) attended the meeting. Minorities Welfare Department Special Secretary Syed Omer Jaleel and Wakf Board Special Officer MJ Akbar were also present.

During the meeting, the Chairman directed Wakf Board to furnish complete information related to the Wakf properties which were leased out. Akbaruddin Owaisi described the second Wakf Survey as incomplete and demanded that the same be completed by next month. Farooq Hussain pointed out illegal shops were being constructed on a graveyard in Patencheru area. He also proposed strengthening of Wakf bodies in districts. DK Aruna sought more funds for Idgah in her constituency in Mahabubnagar district. (INN)
