Lady Hajj aspirant pays for Central Hajj Committee’s mistake, returns home

Saudi authorities returned a lady Hajj aspirant belonging to Nalgonda from Jeddah airport. Passport number of some other lady was entered on her visa due to which Saudi authorities stopped her on airport itself and sent her back to India after contacting with Indian embassy.

It is said that the Central Hajj Committee which is responsible for visa endorsement entered the passport number of another woman with the same name on the visa of Akhtarunnisa. Akhtarunnisa who embarked for Hajj along with her 5 family members was stopped by immigration authorities at Shamsabad International airport and told that the woman with the passport number mentioned in her visa has already departed for Hajj. At that time Hajj Committee and Air India authorities submitted a written clarification in favour of the lady and permitted her to depart.

However Saudi immigration authorities stopped her at Jeddah Airport. The woman had to return thanks to the technical blunder of Central Hajj Committee. Her husband has also decided to accompany her. Prof. S A Shukoor told that new visa will be arranged for the lady. She is likely to leave for Hajj again on September 8.
