Kyrgios wants to put Wawrinka controversy aside to win IPTL

Melbourne: Australia’s controversial tennis star Nick Kyrgios has expressed that he wants to put aside his infamous sledging row with Stan Wawrinka as the duo gear up to win the International Premier Tennis League.

Kyrgios had sparked controversy in August when he made lewd remarks to Wawrinka during their Montreal Masters match. The duo haven’t spoken to each other since then.

The mercurial teenager, who has been paired alongside Wawrinka to represent Singapore Slammers in the closing leg of the IPTL season this week, said that they haven’t talked about the incident at all, News.com.au reported.

Describing Wawrinka as a great player and the main guy of their team, Kyrgios said that they have got one goal to win the title and insisted that he will do whatever he could to warm up his Swiss teammate.

Wawrinka, Kyrgios and Andy Murray’s Slammers are second on the IPTL table, just behind the Indian Aces which comprises of Rafael Nadal, Bernard Tomic and Gael Monfils. (ANI)
