Kulkarni ink attack: Six accused Shiv Sainiks released on bail

Mumbai: The six Shiv Sena workers who were detained yesterday for smearing ink on Sudheendra Kulkarni, were released on bail here on Tuesday.

Kulkarni was attacked for refusing to back down from organizing ex-Pakistani minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri’s book launch.

Among those arrested were Gajanand Patil, Dinesh Prasad, Ashok Waghmare, Prakash Husbe, Samadhan Jadhav and Venkatesh Nair.

Shiv Sena had been vehemently protesting against Kasuri’s book launch saying it would retaliate if the event was not cancelled, and true to their work, the organizer was attacked on the morning of the launch.

The event, however, went without a glitch yesterday as the Shiv Sena showed no sign of interrupting the book launch.
