KTR slams Congress for creating ruckus in Assembly

Panchayat Raj and IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao today slammed the main Opposition party for creating a ruckus in the Assembly on farmers’ suicides.

Participating in a Cheques distribution program for self-help group members towards loans at Kalher village in Medak district, KTR alleged that the Congress senior leader K Jana Reddy did not give any good advice to the government to overcome the suicides’ issue. “Though we expected that the Congress would make some constructive suggestions on the problem, the leaders instead indulged in finding fault with the government”, he lamented. The previous governments left over a lot of problems including that of farmers, irrigation, power, waters and others during their six-decade rule, he said, adding that steps were being taken to address them.

“We succeeded in waiving off crop loans up to Rs 1 lakh and steps are being taken to address the farmers’ needs on priority. We are committed to provide double bedroom houses to every poor family in the State”, KTR said. He also said the State government would protect the farmers and take all steps to put an end to suicides. He also said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was keen on providing safe drinking water to every household in the State in just three years. The TRS Government was going ahead gradually by keeping every promise made in election manifesto one by one, he added. (NSS)
