KTR questions Congress contribution in city’s development

Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao has questioned the contribution of Congress party in the development of Hyderabad during the last 60 years.

Speaking after admitting Ranga Reddy Congress leaders M. Pratap, K. Srinivas Yadav and others into the TRS at Telangana Bhavan on Monday, KTR said that the Congress contribution in city’s development was almost nil. He claimed that the TRS Government has developed Greater Hyderabad during the 18 months in such a way that it could not be compared with Congress Governments’ contribution in the last 60 years. However, he said many areas in Hyderabad lack basic civic amenities. He also asked TDP leaders to clarity on their role in city’s development during their party’s regime.

KTR said that the TRS Government proposes to turn Hyderabad into a global city. He said that the TRS was implementing all the promises that it made its manifesto. Further, he said several new schemes like Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak were introduced which were not promised during elections.

Speaking on the occasion, Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav expressed confidence that the TRS would sweep the GHMC polls. He also claimed that except TRS, no other party would survive in the city in the next few years.

Special Advisor to State Government D. Srinivas, Greater Hyderabad TRS President Hanumantha Rao and other leaders were also present on the occasion. (INN)
