KTR promises new schemes for Old City development

Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao said that out of 29 states in the entire country, Telangana is the only State which took up Double Bed Room housing scheme for the poor people without taking a single rupee from them.

KTR said that the Telangana Government was helping Old Age people by giving them monthly pension of Rs. 1,000 each. He also said that the State Government also waived off Auto Transport tax for Rs. 77 crores for the benefit of the auto drivers and also providing Rs. 5 lakhs insurance scheme.

Speaking after laying foundation stone for 2BHK housing scheme at Jangammet in the Old City on Tuesday, the Minister said that the government was taking up over all development of infrastructure, education facilities and sports activities in the Old City. One cricket stadium and an indoor stadium worth Rs. 2.5 crore will be constructed in the Old City soon.

Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, TRS and MIM legislators and senior officials were also present on the occasion.

Later, the RTA Office for South Zone and a driving track were also inaugurated at Bandlaguda.

In another function, Inlet and Outlet & Distribution network of 12ML Capacity Reservoir at Riyasat Nagar, worth Rs.6.56 Crores and 5ML Capacity Reservoir at Maisaram, worth Rs. 5 Cr were also inaugurated. Foundation stones were also laid for the construction of 5ML RCC Clear water Reservoir at Salala Barkas and 2 ML Reservoir at Bandlaguda. The cost both the projects is nearly Rs. 50 crore. (INN)
