Krishnaiah seeks all-party meet on suicides; Writes to CM

Expressing concern on continuing suicides by farmers, Backward Classes Welfare Association national president and MLA R Krishnaiah today expressed serious discontent on TRS Government for not taking any steps to contain the problem.

In an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, along with Telangana BC president J Srinivas Goud, Krishnaiah sought to know whether golden Telangana is possible with suicides and encounters. He reprimanded the government for distorting Limbaiah’s suicide near Tank Bund and attributed such incidents to the negligence of the government. He demanded that the government call an all-party meeting to sort out the issue.

The Telugu Desam Legislator accused the government of failing to keep the promise of crop loan waiver which is only 25 per cent. Farmers have to end up in despair as there is no timely succor and the government can prevent the suicides if exgratia is given in advance. He alleged that KCR’s 10-day China tour failed to fetch any big investments. He also flayed the Chief Minister for not focusing on the suicides. The Chief Minister should not forget that the State will not flourish if its farmers cry in tears, he said.

Krishnaiah demanded that the government waive off all the loans, announce moratorium on loans, emergency on drought and mandals hit with drought situation and Rs 50000 per acre compensation and arrest of money lenders for pressing the farmers. Holding KCR responsible for Warangal fake encounter and seeking an inquiry into it, he slammed the Chief Minister for failing to implement naxalites agenda and conduct an inquiry. (NSS)
